Goal was to capture the light coming thru the trees.

"Bend In the Road" - Pastel 11 x 14 - I loved the misty forest look.

"Gobbler Territory"

Watercolor seems to be the medium of late but I'm getting back to the pastels very soon.

Small Watercolor Paintings

Here is another small (5" x 7") watercolor paintings.  I love bluebirds - there is a foster holly tree outside my studio window.  They wait until the berries are just right and they come in by the droves and clean all the berries off.  Bluebirds are pretty skiddish so it's hard to get good photo's.  This painting is already sold to my friend Marsha in Texas.

Getting ready for the Golden Retriever National Specialty

The golden retriever national specialty begins next week 9/26/11 in Conyers, Georgia at the International Horse park.  I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends and making new ones.  The Art Expressions by Carolyn booth will be set up on Monday and we'll be there until sometime late on Saturday.  I hope to get lots of golden photos for new work.  Here is a sample of some of the paintings I will have with me.

The Zebra

As an addition to the Safari Theme, "The Zebra" is added.  The is soft pastel - 18" x 12".   Not too sure about doing any more of the zebras - those strips were killers :)  Actually I enjoyed the challenge of the strips.

Motherly Love

I've had this photo for a while and wanted to include in my paintings.  "Motherly Love" -To capture the tenderness of the lioness and her baby was my goal - just that special moment.
